A staggering £8m fitout contract has been obtained by McGoff Construction - a Manchester-based principal contractor. This fitout will become a part of a brand new £20m attraction for the world-renowned family entertainment enterprise Merlin Entertainments.
The money will go towards building “The Bear Grylls Adventure”, and the 8,000sqm park will be opening in 2018 at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre (NEC). Fitted with a high ropes course, indoor skydiving (iFLY), assault course and climbing wall; this new fixture is targeted towards the country’s thrill seekers and adventurers. A themed shop and café will also be included.
It comes as no surprise that McGoff won their latest contract, seeing as they have already completed two incredible projects for the entertainment giants; the £10m Castle Hotel at LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort and The £9m CBeeBies Land Hotel at Alton Towers Resort. Both of these builds were handed over to Merlin earlier this year.
David McGoff, group commercial director commented: “We are absolutely delighted to be once again working with our valued client, Merlin Entertainments, to create this one-of-a-kind and spectacular new attraction at the NEC. There is no other adventure park like this out there right now, so to be a part of constructing such a landmark is truly amazing”.
